Career of Denis Dementhon, Executive Director of France Active
An urban planner specializing in urban policy, then a project manager at the National Council for Integration through Economic Activity, Denis Dementhon joined the France Active network in 1997.
He worked alongside Claude Alphandéry, founding president of France Active, and later with Christian Sautter, then president of France Active and now Honorary President, to develop the network throughout the country.
In 2011, he became the association’s Director of Regional Development and oversaw the coordination of the 35 regional associations, which serve as France Active’s representatives in the regions. Since February 2015, he has served as Executive Director of France Active alongside Pierre-René LEMAS, President.
Denis Dementhon is particularly active within social and solidarity economy networks. In particular, he represents France Active in the boards of Impact France and Fair.
As Co-Chair, alongside Elisa Braley, of the Development Committee of the High Council for the Social and Solidarity Economy (CSESS), they drafted an opinion on “the economic development of the social and solidarity economy”, which was adopted in February 2026 by the members of the CSESS.
