A group of experts: high standards and commitment

Julien Sauvage, fondateur de l’association FLaP et du festival Cabaret vert, avec sa conseillère France Active

At France Active, we believe that commitment is a collective effort. We work alongside committed entrepreneurs who dare to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy and society. With our partners who, like us, put the common good at first. And, of course, with our 850 employees and 3,000 volunteers for whom commitment is much more than an ambition—it’s a requirement.

Providing tools to start a business with confidence

Our mission is to empower entrepreneurs to work toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and democratic future:

  • We support the entrepreneurial journey of those who have the least access to bank financing (women, vulnerable populations, young people) and stand alongside those who are pursuing projects that benefit society and the environment.
  • We encourage socially responsible investing and empower actors in the Social and Solidarity Economy to think bigger.
  • We strengthen the social and environmental commitment of all entrepreneurs to build a society that is resolutely more inclusive.

Together, we work to promote employment, regional development, and stronger social ties.

Advisory support, fundings, networking: a unique collective expertise

Whether employees or volunteers, finance specialists or support professionals—at the national level as well as within each of our 35 regional associations—all the experts involved in our collective draw on their robust expertise to structure, launch, take over, or develop social and solidarity-based entrepreneurship projects.

We stand alongside businesses and organizations at every stage of their development, to accelerate their success and amplify their social and environmental commitment

Values to transform business models

Optimists: we believe in a solidarity-based and sustainable economy where everyone truly has a chance.

Among the entrepreneurs in the start-up phase whom we support (2025 figures):

100% are unemployed and/or in a situation of extreme precariousness

31% are under 30 years old—with 51% of them who are low-educated

48% are women

Guided by a spirit of solidarity: we place cooperation at the heart of our approach and promote networking to amplify the impact of the projects we support.

Largest funder of the Social and Solidarity Economy

67% of the companies we fund have a social or environmental mission

Bold: we dare to take risks for and with the entrepreneurs we choose to support.

“Boldness is what connects us to the entrepreneurs we support. They are all committed to their projects and do everything in their power to succeed. At France Active, we believe that entrepreneurship offers just as many positive opportunities to those who have faced difficult life circumstances as it does to those pursuing projects with a strong social and environmental impact. And it takes boldness to support and fund them.”
