The European Commission promotes the general interest of the European Union (EU) by proposing legislation and ensuring its enforcement, as well as by implementing EU policies and the EU budget. Committed to supporting the social economy through dedicated policies and funding, the European Commission enables France Active to develop pilot projects and thereby enhance its offerings by building on the lessons learned. As the winner of an ESF+ call for proposals, France Active’s “IMPACT+” project—currently being rolled out—aims to structure sectors of the social and solidarity economy in order to increase the number of grants under 500 K€ awarded to social enterprises.
