FAIR was founded in 2021 through the merger of Finansol, a long-standing player in solidarity-based finance, and iiLab, an innovation lab focused on social impact. As a unifying force for social impact finance stakeholders in France and a leading French center of expertise in this field on the international stage, FAIR brings together more than 130 social enterprises, banks, asset management firms, NGOs, prestigious universities, and committed individuals. France Active has been a member of FAIR since 1995.
FAIR administers a certification program, the Finansol label, which distinguishes solidarity-based savings products from other savings products available to the general public. Awarded by a committee of independent experts, it guarantees savers that their contributions are genuinely used to finance activities that generate social and environmental benefits. More than 180 products currently hold the Finansol label.
